The study focuses on a type of cancer known as solid tumors that have come back or spread to other parts of the body. These tumors have a specific change in their genes called FGFR alteration. This change can involve a fusion, rearrangement, or activating mutation in the FGFR1, FGFR2, or FGFR3 genes. The study aims to see how well a drug called pemigatinib works in treating these tumors. Pemigatinib is taken in the form of tablets and is known as a FGFR inhibitor, which means it targets and blocks the activity of the FGFR genes that are altered in these tumors.
The main goal of the study is to evaluate how effective pemigatinib is in slowing down the growth of these tumors and how the tumors respond to the treatment. The study will involve patients who have these specific genetic changes in their tumors and who do not have other treatment options available. Participants will receive pemigatinib as a single treatment to see if it can help control the growth of their cancer.
During the study, patients will be monitored to see how their tumors respond to the treatment. This will include regular check-ups and imaging tests like MRI or CT scans to measure any changes in the size of the tumors. The study will also look at the safety of pemigatinib and any side effects that may occur. The study is expected to continue until 2028, with recruitment starting in late 2024.
