Chronic hand eczema is a skin condition that causes redness, itching, and sometimes blisters on the hands. It can be uncomfortable and affect daily activities. This study is looking at how well a medicine called roflumilast works for treating this condition. Roflumilast is taken as a tablet and is known as a PDE4-inhibitor, which means it helps reduce inflammation in the body. The study will compare the effects of roflumilast with a placebo, which looks like the medicine but does not contain the active ingredient.
The main goal of the study is to see if roflumilast can safely and effectively reduce the severity of chronic hand eczema in adults. Participants will take either roflumilast or a placebo for a certain period, and doctors will check how their skin condition changes over time. The study will measure improvements in the severity of eczema and any changes in the quality of life for those taking part. The study will also monitor any side effects that might occur during the treatment.
Participants will be assessed regularly to see how their hand eczema responds to the treatment. The study will look at how much the eczema improves, using a scale that measures the severity of the condition. This will help determine if roflumilast is a good option for people with chronic hand eczema. The study is expected to continue for several years to gather enough information about the treatment's effectiveness and safety.
