Transthyretin-Mediated Amyloid Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) is a heart condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart, affecting its function. This study is looking at a treatment called ION-682884, also known as eplontersen, which is a solution for injection. The purpose of the study is to see how well this treatment works and how safe it is for people with ATTR-CM. The study will compare the effects of ION-682884 with a placebo, which is an inactive substance that looks like the treatment but does not contain the active ingredient.
Participants in the study will receive either the ION-682884 injection or the placebo. The study will monitor the participants over a period to see if the treatment helps reduce heart-related problems, such as heart failure or other cardiovascular events. The study aims to understand if ION-682884 can improve the health of people with ATTR-CM compared to those who receive the placebo.
The study will involve regular check-ups and assessments to track the participants' heart health and overall well-being. The goal is to gather information on the effectiveness and safety of ION-682884 in managing the symptoms and progression of ATTR-CM. This research could provide valuable insights into new treatment options for this heart condition.
