Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease (cGVHD) is a condition that can occur after a stem cell or bone marrow transplant. It happens when the donated cells attack the recipient's body. This study is focused on patients with Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease who have not responded to at least two previous treatments. The study will test a new medication called axatilimab, which is given as a solution through a vein (intravenous infusion). Axatilimab is a type of protein that targets specific cells in the body to help reduce the symptoms of cGVHD.
The purpose of the study is to see how well axatilimab works and how safe it is for patients with cGVHD. Participants will receive one of three different doses of axatilimab. The study will monitor the patients' response to the treatment and any side effects they may experience. The study will also look at how the medication affects the need for other treatments, like corticosteroids, which are often used to manage cGVHD symptoms.
Throughout the study, patients will have regular check-ups to assess their health and the effectiveness of the treatment. This includes monitoring vital signs, conducting physical exams, and performing tests to measure the body's response to the medication. The study aims to provide more information about the potential benefits and risks of using axatilimab for treating Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease. The results could help improve treatment options for patients with this challenging condition.
